How do I install Flash?

You can find the latest Macromedia Flash Player at http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/. Download and follow the onscreen instructions.

What version of Flash is required?

For best performance, the latest version of Macromedia Flash Player is recommended. Free download and instructions are at http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/.

What are the minimum system requirements?

Windows 98 or Mac OS X, running Internet Explorer 5.5, Firefox 1.0, or Safari 1.2.

I click a video and nothing happens. What's going on?

Check that the video isn't playing in another browser window. If not, check your browser plug-ins. Video will not appear in the portal player if you are currently running the Flashblock or Adblock plug-ins.

Why can't I hear any audio?

Check that the mute button on the video player is not pressed and that the volume slider isn't all the way at the left. Secondly, check your system volume.

Why do some videos play on this page while others launch new windows?

Some providers want to be sure you can access their full range of video, so their clips appear in new windows with navigation to their other videos. Others take advantage of the video player that is attached to the channel.

How can I make the video window larger?

When a video is playing, the icon furthest to the right on the player controls is a "full-screen" button. Clicking that will take the player to its largest size. If you want a size somewhere in-between, click on the grey diagonal lines at the bottom right corner of the player, hold down your left mouse button, and drag the corner outward to stretch the player to the size you prefer.

Can I move the player while a video is in progress?

Yes. Simply click on the dotted bar above the video and drag the window to another location on the page.

Can I go to another website while watching a video?

Though the video player is not embedded in the page, it is attached to it. You can browse or search the listings while a video is playing, but when you leave the page, the video player will close.

I accidentally closed the video player while I was watching something. How do I get it back?

You can click the icon next to the help button (it looks like a screen with an arrow over it) to launch the video player again. Alternatively, you can reselect the video you had been watching and the player will reload.

I was watching videos from a certain network yesterday, but I can't find that network listing anymore.

Use the arrow buttons on the Channels list . in the right column . to scroll through the full list of available video providers.
